Now we know dozens of energy saving technologies, many of which are not just experimental any more. But by virtue of different reasons their introduction is being impeded. Ideas of introduction of new energy saving technologies gradually appear in business plans of native producers. Tariffs for energy barriers are backlogs of Ukrainian economics, so saving of energy resources is a very important aspect not just for Lugansk region but for whole country.

 

All these questions were discussed during an informational hour which took place on October, 27 in Gorky Library. Informational hour was visited by: head of fuel-energy management I.I. Tokarev, representatives of state inspection on energy saving in Lugansk region, representatives of mine and producing enterprises of the city. According to initiative of Lugansk branch of the institute of economics-law researches leading scientists of state academic institutes and practical engineers were invited to the meeting.
Librarians demonstrated great amount of documentary and electronic resources dedicated to the problematic questions and ways of their solution. Members of the meeting took part in the conference with participation of great variety of specialists on this question.

On April, 13, 2006 a virtual excursion to world museums took place in the Internet center.

Members of the center – Anna abramenko, Nataliya Dida and Alexandra Markovskaya introduced to first year students of historical faculty of Eastern Ukrainian university named after Dahl best European and World museums. Among them were: “Hermitage”, State Tretyakovskaya gallery, Kiev Wax Figures Museum, Rerih’s Museum and others.

 

On April, 3 .

On April, 3 a contract #1 on information-computer support of members of LF IEPI NANU was held. On April, 10 the same contract was held with NDI named after Dahl. One of the points of the contract is to teach scientific workers to use Internet search. First such lesson with scientific workers-economists was carried out on April, 7.

On March, 28 in electronic reading hall of Lugansk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Gorky an internet center was opened.

The Center was opened according to the victory of the Library in competition (LEAP-V) “Internet for public libraries” arranged by the Embassy of The USA in Ukraine. The aim of the project is to develop the services of the Library and to satisfy information need of wide specter of users.

According to the 2-years program users of the Library are able to use Internet and to learn basics Of World Wide Web search for free. Program-plan includes informational Internet meetings, virtual excursions, presentations of web-resources, thematic collections of web-links.

At the opening of the center there were: Ovcharenko G.E. (The head of the department of culture of Lugansk regional state administration), Ribyanceva I.P. (The Head of Lugansk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Gorky), Shkurat O. (the specialist of electronic resources of The USA Embassy in Ukraine), Dida N. Ya. (head of the center)
